The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) and the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) invite you to attend the 2013 Used Oil/HHW Training & Conference: “Sharing Our Success For a Greener Future.” The event will be held at the Sacramento Convention Center, October 28th – 31st, 2013.

This year we are pleased to once again work closely with the Western Sustainability and Pollution Prevention Network (WSPPN) to offer exciting training opportunities and conference sessions. As in years past, we strive to foster the cross- fertilization of ideas and approaches to pollution prevention, Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and used oil management, resource conservation, outreach and social media, green chemistry, climate change and sustainability. If you’ve attended any of the past Used Oil/HHW Conferences or the WSPPN Conferences, we know you’ll find this year’s event to be engaging and inspiring.

The conference is returning to the Monday – Thursday morning format we used for several years, and we hope it will provide expanded opportunities for networking among attendees and sponsors. Training workshops on Monday through Tuesday morning will include popular topics from previous years (HHW for Managers, Chemistry for non-Chemists, etc...) as well as new training opportunities (Green Chemistry 101, Emergency Response for HHW Programs, etc...). Keynote speakers and multiple-track educational sessions will follow on Tuesday afternoon, all day Wednesday, and Thursday morning.

If your agency participates in the Oil Payment Program, you may charge authorized expenses from the conference to your oil funds. If you participate in a waste management program for your city, county, or organization this conference is perfect for you. If you are the sustainability coordinator for your company or organization, you will find new ways to help your company achieve its sustainability goals.

We hope you will be able to join us in Sacramento to share your ideas and experiences, meet new colleagues and take advantage of the opportunity to reenergize!

Sincerely,

Shirley Willd-Wagner
